The Public Organization Enterprise Red.es, assigned to the Ministry of Science and Technology through the Secretariat of State of Telecommunications and for the Society of the Information, has legally entrusted a series of functions with the intention of contributing to the development of the telecommunications and the society of the information in our country.
Between his main Red.es functions it has assigned to the management of the registry of names of dominion of Internet under the code of country corresponding to Spain “.es�, that includes all the functions related to the procedure of requests and allocation of dominions in agreement with the corresponding norm, as well as the accomplishment of the technical functions necessary to guarantee the correct operation of the system of dominions in Spain and the global network of Internet, participating in the international organisms that they coordinate of the management of the system of dominion names.
The ESNIC, department of Red.es, applies the developed basic principles that are in the National Plan of Names of Dominion, approved in March of 2003. Between his basic functions, it emphasizes the registry of names of dominion of DNS (Service Domain Name) of second low level “.es� and those of third low level� .com.es ", “.nom.es�,� .org.es ", “.gob.es� and� .edu.es ".
